There’s a difference between food confrontation, which can be rude versus food introduction, which errs on the side of politeness.
Encouraging sensory kids to cook in the kitchen is one of many hard work activities that promotes organization and regulation of their sensory systems, particularly when feeling overstimulated or overwhelmed.
Cue the music and imagine it. You take a bite of food, and it’s rude! It’s gross and feels like you just bit into a ball of yarn. It’s just downright disrespectful to your palate!
